Sustainable Cities
PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE URBAN POLICY TO FOSTER EQUITABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL GREEN GROWTH
Within the area of sustainable development, the Center has specialized in urban development to promote bettering air quality and resilience in cities vulnerable to climate change. The objective is to achieve sustainable planning and city management, while promoting schemes of low carbon urban development with the rational use of natural resources, particularly water and energy. Currently the priorities have been focused on those sectors which present mayor dynamism in cities. In addition, a series of cost-effective economic instruments, capable of giving our proposals financial viability and political and social acceptance have been designed.
