Design of Vehicle Control Areas for the Country’s Center Region -2014

Abstract

This study developed a methodology which identifi es urban perimeters with the potential to implement a policy of low emission zones (LEZ) in cities of the Megalopolis in central Mexico, restricting circulation of the most polluting motor vehicles. From the study cases in the cities of Mexico and Toluca, indicators were generated for mobility, air quality, economic and social baseline factors that will measure the impacts and benefi ts that result from the implementation.
